Israel

The AFEK Hoops For Kids dream began in Israel in 2010 in the city of Netanya. Today, we have worked in over eight cities throughout Israel and counting. In 2016, we implemented a life skills curriculum to ensure that our youth are learning and absorbing necessary life skills to become happy, successful, and healthy citizens of their community.

The Netanya program is where it all started. What originally began as a simple ticket donation program, turned into a daily program working with over 200 kids, annually. Thanks to the city of Netanya, Tomer Barzilay, The Elitzur Netanya basketball team, the municipality, Mayor Miriam Fierberg, the Netanya Foundation, and the Sports Municipality, the program continues to grow and become stronger.

KIRYAT GAT

Kiryat Gat joined Hoops For Kids in October of 2015 and has never looked back. The city of Kiryat Gat has invested more into this program than each city combined. Their support is what makes their program the most successful yet. Kiryat Gat has asked us to expand within their city to work with more kids for the upcoming season (2017-2018). We couldn't be more excited to serve this community and expand our family.
We would like to thank the city of Kiryat Gat, and the Foundation of Kiryat Gat, for their constant support for our program.

Petah Tikvah is new to the Hoops For Kids family, and they are the first women's team that we partnered with. We were not, in the least bit, disappointed. The women's teams held the highest record of professional player volunteer hours, even with a shorter playing season than the men's teams.
Thanks to the coach of Petah Tikvah, our program was successful. He made it a priority for his players to be involved, and it made all the difference in the world to the kids they worked with.

RISHON LE'ZION

DONATED 45 BASKETBALLS IN 2016
DISTRIBUTED 45 FREE SHIRTS IN 2016
Ramat Hen is the second women's team that asked to join the Hoops For Kids program.
We were excited with the prospect of their participation, as they were the number one women's basketball team in Israel.
Ramat Hen made a big impression with the involvement, even hosting volunteering events with the team beyond the expectation of the HFK program. Towards the end of the season, their mentoring opportunities were fewer as they climbed to the finals of the league, but they still made it a priority to involve their community by bringing their kids to support them during their most important games.
We are proud to have them as a part of the Hoops For Kids Family.

Ashkelon has been a long-time partner of the Hoops For Kids program due to the commitment of the city and basketball team. Although their basketball team has moved from Division I to Division III, their commitment to the program never changed. In 2016, we had the opportunity to renovate an after-school center in need of a new kitchen, flooring, and desks. It was an honor to provide the kids with a better environment to flourish.
We need to thank the city of Ashkelon, the Foundation, and the management behind the basketball team for their unwavering commitment. They understand the value and impact of our program which, in turn, makes it one of the best performing cities.

Hapoel Tel Aviv joined the Hoops For Kids program in 2015, even though they ran their own community outreach programs. Their mentality has always been, "The more we can do for our community, the better organization we will be." That has lead to hundreds of kids being part of our program and huge team clinics that were an unforgettable experience for the kids who attended.
The program originally started off small, but in two years has grown to impact double the amount of youth we work with.  Our goals for the upcoming season are to increase number of kids we work with, yet again, and include more individual player mentoring commitments.
Thanks to the Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball team for their commitment to the kids in their community and their expectations for players to get involved.
