Meet The STAFF
Rachel founded the Hoops For Kids program over 10 years ago while residing in Israel with her family. She has since worked to expand the program in Israel, Kenya and beyond. Rachel earned her Bachelor in Communication from the Interdisciplinary Center in Israel. She is also the Director of the Kids Connect Network program. She currently resides somewhere in the world with her son, Elijah, and husband, Adrian.
Operations Manager, Israel
Dubbed “The Jewish Jordan” by Sports Illustrated in 1999, Tamir Goodman is a former professional basketball player and current successful entrepreneur, coach, educator and motivational speaker. In 2002, Tamir moved to Israel when he was signed by top Israeli and European League basketball team, Maccabi Tel Aviv. In 2004, Tamir took a break from playing basketball to serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) where he was awarded “Most Outstanding Soldier.” In 2009 Tamir retired from professional basketball. He currently runs a world class summer overnight basketball camp in Jerusalem for players from around the world; leading sports based programming for trips, schools and organizations.
HFK Global Consultant
Marina is a Consultant for non-profits and companies looking to expand thier Coorporate Responsibility platform. She was the former Head of Partnerships and Director of TAG-USA, our non-profit partner based in Seattle, Washington. Marina has extensive experience in corporate responsibility and international development in Israel, USA, UK, Sri-Lanka, and Georgia. Prior to working at Tag, she worked as the Deputy Head of Business Development at Shelter UK, as Manager at Business in the Community, led research at Save the Children, and delivered monitoring and evaluation at Mercy Corps. She is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and Brandeis University.
Meet The Coordinators
Yonatan, a native of Ashkelon, has been with our program for four years. He is truly loved by all youth and staff who get a chance to work with him. It would be impossible to calculate the differences he has made in the community. When he is not on the court, he is busy getting his engineering degree.
We are excited to welcome Avishai to the Hoops For Kids program as an additional coordinator in Ashkelon! Avishai is 27 years old, and currently plays for A.S. Ashkelon. He also brings 6 years of basketball coaching experience with him.
Rishon Lezion Coordinator
This is Ido's first year working with Hoops For Kids, and we are excited to bring his expertise into our program! Along with 11 years of coaching experience, Ido has a bachelor's degree in psychology with an MBA in marketing.
Tel Aviv Coordinator
We are grateful to have Yitzhak return for another Hoops For Kids season in Tel Aviv! A lifelong educator and basketball coach, we feel fortunate to have Yitzhak on our team!
Moshe is beginning his work with HFK as the Coordinator of our longest-running city, Netanya. Moshe's passion for sports and youth is evident, as he has coached youth basketball for 10 years, and is entering his 7th year as a junior-high physical education teacher. We are excited to work with Moshe!
HFK Liaison-Kiryat Gat
Amit has been the guiding light to the Hoops For Kids program. He challenges his city to do more. Over three years, his city has become increasigly involved with HFK- even taking on the program during the summer. The success of the program in Kiryat Gat is due to him!
Kiryat Gat Coordinator
Michael is a returning member of the HFK staff, having lead multiple successful seasons in Kiryat Gat. He has been teaching Phy Ed, Health and English for 24 years, and has coached basketball for 14 years. Michael continues to be an invaluable member of our staff!
